2007 Race to Scouting Timeline Plan
Two important areas this year are:

Put the Webelos To Scout Transition plan in motion.
Every Troop crossing Webelos into their unit by April 30th will be put into a drawing for a double burner camping stove. A unit may only win one prize. See Race to Scouting 2007 theme announced for rules.

Packs must hold Spring Recruitments before June to qualify. Race to Scouting 2007 theme announced .

1. Every new Cub Scout who joins the program from April 1st through October 20th with paperwork turned in by October 20th will receive a free Pinewood Derby Kit.

2. Every new youth who joins the program from April 1st through October 20th at the conclusion of the BIG RACE in November if they are participating, they will receive a event patch.

3. Every Youth participating in the Outdoor Show at Camp Berry or Camp Lakota on October 13th will receive a patch.

Off to the Races Big Event
It is important for the youth who joins to get involved in a Big Event as soon as possible. The independent survey done by the Harris Poll says that youth will stay in the program if he gets involved right away.

1. On November 10th, the Council will host 3 Race to Scouting Derbies for new scouts only. Each youth will receive a patch for participating. These races will be held at Chevrolet Dealerships across the Council.

Unit Incentives:
January through June we will be offering an incentive to Cub Scout Packs re-chartering 85% of their youth, Troops and Crews re-chartering 90% of their youth. This incentive is one Race to Scouting hat.
• Every Cub Scout Pack that recruits five more youth than one year ago (December 31, 2006) will receive a specially designed Race to Scouting Patch for every youth and adult in his or her Pack.
• Every Boy Scout Troop and Venturing Crew who recruits three more youth than one year ago December 31, 2006) will receive a specially designed Race to Scouting Patch for every youth and adult in his or her unit.

The Pack Round-Up Agenda

Purpose

a. To make recruiting fun and exciting for the boys
b. Kick off your pack recruiting meetings in early September
c. New boys joining will receive a Pinewood Derby car kit in a plastic carrying case-
d. Prize incentives/promotion items around the room are available through Oriental Trading.
e. Each pack receives one promotion item from around the room

a. To receive Pinewood Derby Cars, all Round - Ups must be completed by October 15 30th
